Places

Myanmar - not long ago completely cut off from the outside world it is a place where the world still seems to be intact. Deeply rooted in its Buddhist culture Burmese people were one of the most welcoming folks I've ever met.

"Incredible India" - that's how India tries to canvass tourists. Who ever came up with that slogan did a really good job in hitting the nail on the head. India is truly incredible. There is no country in the world quite alike and not many that are in every thinkable way simply incredible.

Sri Lanka is often mistaken for being similar to India 'cause it's so close to it. But traveling through Sri Lanka you'll soon discover that there are a lot differences between this little insular state and it's huge neighbor.

„Concrete jungle where dreams are made of“ -the world capital 'cause the city has so many faces - literally and figuratively. You see people of different nationalities, different social background, with different beliefs and different goals for their lifes all sitting next to each other in the subway.

Mexico is in my opinion a country that has something for everyone. You can have your Caribbean dream at the Riviera Maya, surf the waves down at the Pacific, discover the old Aztec culture, make your way through the megalopolis Mexico City, admire nature's beauty in the jungle and so much more.

Colombia turned out to be my perfect holiday spot. In contrast to what people have in mind about Colombia I experienced it as a very organized, modern and safe country. Their colonial heritage is visible and sensible everywhere. Besides that it's the nature's beauty of the Andes and the Caribbean Sea that makes Colombia worth a visit.

Cuba evokes pretty strong feelings and images in people's minds. It's about hot Cuban Salsa nights, the morbid romantic of Havanna, Ernest Hemingway, old Cadillacs and Chevys, Communism and of course Che Guevara and the revolution.
