New york

There is nothing to say about New York that hasn’t been said before. „Concrete jungle where dreams are made of“ And my dreams were and in some way are made of New York. For me it’s the world capital 'cause the city has so many faces - literally and figuratively. You see people of different nationalities, different social background, with different beliefs and different goals for their lifes all sitting next to each other in the subway.

That diversity reflects in the city’s faces and neighborhoods as well. You can buy all sorts of fresh fish in chinatown, hang out with some artist dudes in Chelsea, buy kosher meat in Williamsburg, go for some fancy shopping in SoHo, attend a Gospel service in Harlem or mingle with the business men downtown. Everything in one city. What unifies all the different people is loving „their" New York. Most of them have to fight hard to make it there but the city really pays it back. With exactly this diversity and all the opportunities that come with it.

But you really need to discover what the city has to offer. If you’re a tourist in the city you most likely gonna check the places that you know from all the movies, tv series and photos. You go to Times Square, climb up the Empire State building, stroll down the fifth Avenue and have a walk through Central Park. That is a lovely program 'cause you see in real life what is already familiar to you through the media. But with that itinerary you’ll not find something surprisingly new. And you’ll miss out on the real New York life and it's different faces.

To be honest I was about to make the same mistake on my first visit to New York. I loved it to actually see New York but I was not pretty surprised either. It was not love at first sight. But to my huge luck I was hit by another love at first sight and got to know two amazing guys who are by now some of my dearest friends. They introduced me to the real New York life and showed me sides of the city I probably would have never seen on my own. Of course it’s our wonderful friendship that made me come back but with each and every visit I fell deeper in love with the city and more than that with it’s amazing mixture of people.
